Shenandoah Backpacking Trip

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 19, 2009, 12:55 PM

I'll be leaving Monday July 20th for a 6 day hiking/backpacking trip to Shenandoah National Park VA. We'll be hiking 56 miles in total along the Appalachian Trial. When I return around the 27th or 28th I'll have new photos to post so check back then!

“Away, away, from men and towns,
To the wild wood and downs,
To the silent wilderness,
Where the soul need not repress
Its music.”

My name is Troy Warner. I'm currently a Geology student at WVU and live in Morgantown West Virginia. I can only wait to see what the future has in store but I’ll always remember the people that made me who I am today.

I try to stay active as much as possible. I think that the idea of boredom is nature’s mechanism to keep us from our own minds, having some activity or goal keeps us all sane. That's when I really appreciate the great friends I have. Who knows where I would be today if I didn't have my friends and family.

Photography is something I love dearly. It’s that indescribable feeling I get when I take a photo or when I see an amazing photograph. The world is only what we perceive it to be, it’s a very powerful tool to show another your own reality. Photography is an amazing and powerful form of art. I can show you the world through my own eyes and my own perspective. When you see that still frame of time immortalized in a photo and see the world in a light different from your own, that is true art.
